10 Best Xbox 360 Games
Dark Souls, Red Dead Redemption, Portal 2 and other projects that deserve attention.
1. Assassin’s Creed II
The second part of Assassin’s Creed corrected many of the mistakes of the first and became one of the most popular games of the publisher. The protagonist, the Italian assassin Ezio, travels between Florence, Venice and Forlì, simultaneously investigating the murders of his relatives.
The gameplay, tied to climbing buildings and secretive murders, is addictive, and accurately recreated Italian renaissance cities fascinate with their beauty.
2. Grand Theft Auto V
Textures in GTA V on Xbox 360 are less clear, and the effects are less impressive than in versions for more modern consoles. But this has almost no effect on the sensations. Still, the main thing in Rockstar Games is exciting missions and memorable characters, and with this GTA V everything is in order.
It’s one of the latest blockbusters released on console, and one of the most highly detailed games on it. You can study the map for hours and constantly find something new.
3. Mass Effect 2
In Mass Effect 2, the player assumes the role of Commander Shepard, who must assemble a team of talented fighters to confront an alien threat. To do this, you will have to travel a lot to different star systems, save people and fight evil aliens.
And maybe a couple of times to look into a nightclub, solve a few personal problems of colleagues and enter into a romantic relationship with one of them. In short, there is something to do in the game. The main thing is not to forget that the universe is threatened with destruction.
4. Halo 3
Halo is a popular shooter series known for both epic single-player campaigns and intense multiplayer matches. Now on the multiplayer servers of Halo 3 players are not enough, but you can enjoy the story mode.
As master chief’s super soldier, the player must prevent the alien covenant coalition from activating Halo rings designed to destroy the galaxy. He has to travel through portals, rescue old friends and shoot a lot.
5. Portal 2
This is one of those games, after passing, in which you begin to look at this art form differently. At its core, Portal 2 is simple: the heroine must solve riddles with the help of a portal gun to get out of a giant underground laboratory.
It is surprising how much the developers manage in total for the 10 hours that the story campaign lasts. Tell a fascinating story with funny characters and tense situations, teach the player “portal thinking”, present a dozen different mechanics, without adding a single additional button to the control scheme.
This game is a masterpiece, and you can’t skip it.
6. Red Dead Redemption
John Marston, the protagonist of Red Dead Redemption, has done a lot of questionable things in life. But that’s his world — the Wild West doesn’t forgive weakness. Despite the fact that John long ago left criminal activity and started a family, the sins of the past suddenly remind of themselves. The hero has to go on a journey along the frontier in search of his former accomplices.
As with many other Rockstar Games, the highlight of Red Dead Redemption is a sense of freedom. The player has access to a huge map on which you can freely move on a horse, carriages and trains. There are also a bunch of weapons and capabilities.
7. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Modern Warfare is the first part of Call of Duty, the action of which takes place not during the Second World War. The player assumes the role of a special forces soldier who, together with his team, must find out the plans of the terrorists and prevent them.
The game shows modern warfare from different angles: through the eyes of a shooter in a helicopter, a sniper behind enemy lines, a soldier in Central Asia. The campaign is full of moments that are etched in the memory. What is worth only the observation of a nuclear explosion or a mission in the abandoned Pripyat.
8. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Skyrim is one of the most popular games in history. The Elder Scrolls series has always had a special status in the gaming community, but the fifth part brought it to a new level. In today’s world, Skyrim is almost synonymous with an open world RPG.
There are many reasons for this. The simplicity of the gameplay, memorable quests, an epic plot that allows the player to decide the fate of not only the region, but also the whole world. Although the main one is, of course, talking dragons.
9. Batman: Arkham City
Batman: Arkham City is a rare example of a really high-quality superhero game. Stealthy attacks, the study of crime scenes, the tactical use of gadgets, long flights through the night city: the action really makes you feel like Batman.
And there’s a great plot, including most of DC’s classic villains, and actors from the nineties animated series in the lead roles.
10. Dark Souls
Dark Souls doesn’t mess with the player. From the first minutes, she makes it clear: if you are not good enough, then you will not be able to pass the game. There will be no indulgences. Therefore, as you progress, you have to improve your skills, learn how to move correctly, block and parry blows.
As a reward, the player receives a sense of satisfaction after defeating the next boss and small pieces of lore, from which you can learn more about this doomed world.
