10 Games for Different Platforms to Invite Friends to
Explore magical worlds together, rob cans, or try to cook the most delicious dish in the world.
Many games are complicated — sometimes even too much. Going through them alone, especially after a busy day at work, can seem like an overwhelming task. Fortunately, there are cooperative projects: in them, you can cope with all the difficulties together with friends.
1. Sea of Thieves
Platforms: PC, Xbox One.
You have to assemble a team of pirates, get on a ship and go on an unforgettable sea adventure. There is not too much content in the project yet, but the developers are constantly adding something new to it.
You can, for example, chat with a stranger through a voice chat, so that the rest of the team members secretly take out from his ship all the hard-earned gains. And wandering through one of the many islands in search of items for tasks, there is an opportunity to stumble upon a group of aggressive players.
And there is nothing to compare with the feeling when you are sailing on a small ship and suddenly notice an enemy galleon rushing towards you at full speed.
2. Overcooked
The catch is that the action takes place on completely unusual locations. In one of the levels, the kitchen is located on the roofs of two trucks overtaking each other. The other is an incredibly slippery iceberg.
You can’t play Overcooked online, but yelling at friends sitting next to you, confused under your feet while you’re trying to slice a salad, is still a pleasure.
3. Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime
Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch.
A cartoon game that can be played in a group of up to four people. You need to fly on a spaceship through colorful levels and rescue various creatures from imprisonment.
The ship is divided into several compartments. One is responsible for movement, another for weapons, the third for shields, and so on. There are always more compartments than players, so you have to rush headlong from one to another. An exciting and very fun sight.
4. Divinity: Original Sin 2
Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One.
A classic fantasy RPG with all the ensuing: a rather complex pumping system, a lot of dialogue and tactical battles. The main difference from other similar projects is that the game is sharpened for cooperative passage.
However, it is not necessary to merge. If there is such a desire, you can in every way interfere with each other to perform tasks and move along the storyline. Thanks to this, the game becomes really exciting.
5. Portal 2
Continuation of a wonderful puzzle, the main gameplay element of which is a portal gun. This is a device that creates holes in matter, between which you can move.
The second part is better than the first in everything: it has more diverse tasks, an even cooler plot and a sea of new mechanics. One of the main innovations is the ability to play with a friend.
The cooperative mode stands apart from the single: it has completely different levels, which is due to the presence of not one, but two characters – funny robots. Because of this, the passage is complicated, but you get much more pleasure from each puzzle solved.
6. Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes
Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Android.
Together with a friend, you have to neutralize the bombs one by one. One gives instructions, the second carries them out.
On each bomb, there are a lot of buttons and inscriptions that fold into several puzzles. The sapper tells the instructor where and what is located, and he looks for possible solutions in a special manual.
Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes supports virtual reality headsets – they are the most interesting to play in. But you can just sit down with a laptop in front of a friend, who will frantically search in the printed instructions for suitable buttons so that you meet the specified time.
7. Destiny 2
Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One.
First, Bungie created one of the best shooters in history called Halo, and then released a multiplayer hybrid of shooter and role-playing game – Destiny. In the second part of the grandiose space opera, the studio rethought and improved everything that the players loved in the original.
In the sequel, there is an epic plot, an endless race for more and more cool equipment and exciting tasks that need to be completed with other people – ideally with friends. And if you want to show your comrades where crayfish hibernate, then you can participate in competitive fights.
8. Left 4 Dead 2
Platforms: PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One.
The oldest game on the list, which nevertheless retains popularity. Until now, there are very few projects in which you can find such a driving and fun cooperative.
Left 4 Dead 2 is a shooter in which, for several story campaigns, you and your friends make their way through crowds of zombies. For the variety of gameplay is responsible AI Director technology, which changes the location of the living dead and objects for the behavior of players.
All this is complemented by thoughtful locations and a variety of missions, each of which has a unique theme, whether it is an escape from a shopping center or an attempt to cross a bridge teeming with hundreds of decaying walkers.
9. Payday 2
Platforms: PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch.
Everyone loves good heist movies, but there are very few games on the subject. Payday 2 is one of the few such projects.
There is no clear narrative in it – only a wide range of missions for four players, in which you need to clear jewelry stores, rob banks and steal armored cars. For their passage, they give money and experience points so that you can improve weapons and buy masks.
The game has gathered around itself a huge community of fans, so robberies in it can be found for every taste and color – one is more interesting than the other.
10. Monster Hunter: World
Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One.
For many years, the Monster Hunter series was popular for the most part only in Japan and is available only on specific platforms. Everything changed with the release on modern consoles, and then on the PC of the last part.
The main goal in Monster Hunter: World is to kill monsters of different shapes and sizes. Each of them has its own habits, as well as strengths and weaknesses, so you have to look for your own approach to everyone.
Fortunately, you can hunt them together with friends. Fights with monsters are chaotic, so help in any case will not hurt. During each battle, you have to think about tactics, and in this regard, in co-op, the game is revealed to the fullest.
