7 Mods for Minecraft That Change the Game Beyond Recognition
Magic, post-apocalypse and space flights – these modifications will help make the familiar project more exciting.
1. Galacticraft
Versions: 1.7.10 and above.
Modification for those who have always dreamed of going to the stars. Galacticraft allows you to create a rocket and fly into space. You can land on one of five worlds: the Moon, the space station, the asteroid field, Venus or Mars.
All locations look different. Venus has a lot of mountains and lava, and the moon is dotted with craters. Unique resources are stored in the bowels of each planet. They are necessary for the construction of more powerful missiles and other devices like a drone-miner, which automatically collects the encountered ore.
2. Millénaire
Versions: 1.7.10 and above.
This Minecraft mod adds hundreds of villages to the game that exist and develop independently of the main character. Each inhabitant in these settlements has his own role (merchant, farmer, builder, and so on), on which behavior depends.
The villages belong to different cultures: Norman, Japanese, Indian and not only. This affects the appearance of their inhabitants and the food they get.
The player can trade with the settlements and help them develop. For this, residents will give him decorative items, and at some point may even build a house specifically for him.
3. The Lost Cities
Версии: 1.10 и выше.
The modification replaces the usual natural world of Minecraft with a dilapidated, endless metropolis. It has buildings of different sizes and shapes, highways, forks and even a functioning metro.
Some areas of the city flooded, others collapsed, others were overgrown with plants. You can study a new setting for a long time.
4. The Betweenlands
Versions: 1.7.10 and above.
The Betweenlands is a new dimension, very different from the normal world of Minecraft. Hundreds of new blocks, recipes and items, dozens of creatures with supernatural powers and many fascinating locations.
In survival mode, it can take long hours to explore all that Betweenlands has to offer.
5. Better Than Wolves
Version: 1.5.2.
Better Than Wolves slightly changes the look of the game, but makes the gameplay of Minecraft much more hardcore.
So, the speed of movement is now highly dependent on the surface: it is more difficult to get through high grass or snow than to walk on a stone or brick. Sources of water or lava should not be carried in buckets, and the bed should not be used as an “anchor” for revival or a way to skip the night.
These and other minor changes, coupled with new items and blocks, practically turn Minecraft into another game. The hero has to be much more careful, plan, think over each action, build the infrastructure of the base. A good option for those who are tired of the classic gameplay.
6. Divine RPG
Versions: 1.4.7 and 1.7.10.
One of the biggest modifications for Minecraft at the moment. Divine RPG adds nine new dimensions, hundreds of items and blocks, more than 100 magical and creepy creatures and dozens of weapons and armor.
Also with the mod there is an extensive system of character development and magical items and spells, the use of which is spent mana.
7. Advent of Ascension
Versions: 1.7.10 and above.
Advent of Ascension is a mod from the creator of divine RPG. It is in many ways similar to its predecessor, but much larger: 21 dimensions, more than 200 species of creatures, dozens of bosses and hundreds of items.
Among the new worlds there are quite crazies: take at least Candyland, in which everything consists of sweets, or Creeponia – the measurement of creepers.
There are also gameplay changes. There are pets that players can take with them on adventures, and mini-games for which they give valuable rewards.
Also, Advent of Ascension adds a skill system: they can be increased to receive bonuses.
